The Danish carpet manufacturer has developed a new carpet quality, where the plush surface consists of 100% wool. Wool is a renewable material and therefore an important step in the effort to increase the proportion of renewable materials in the company's production.
The new carpet quality is part of Ege Carpets’ Highline concept, where customers can design their carpet exactly as they wish. It can be in the form of a design that incorporates a company logo, geographical location or something completely different.
27. February 2024:
Ege Carpets’ climate plan has been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). With the approval, the Danish carpet giant documents that it sets ambitious climate targets in line with the latest climate research.
Rune Stephansen, CEO at Ege Carpets, is pleased with the approval as it’s important for the company to take responsibility.
The Ege Go2Work project started in 2018 at Ege Carpets’ factory in Gram in Southern Jutland, where almost 50 people have been part of the project. Now the activity is being expanded to include the company’s factory at the headquarters in Herning. The project functions as a business centre, where the employees work with, for example, removing yarn residues from cardboard polishers, which can then subsequently be recycled.
