Hotel Eyde has been renovated several times during the years. Today the hotel again undergoes an extensive renovation. The aim is to keep the classical and exclusive expression that has characterized the hotel through all the years.
Hotel Eyde’s logo consists of elegant laurel leafs on a slim branch. The leaf branch from the logo is used as an integrated design element in both carpets and wall decoration. A very nice feature is that the leafs in the carpet and wall decoration is connected underlining the high level of details at the hotel.
The renovations and enlargements of Hotel Eyde have always been made with respect to the atmosphere and the historic background. The hotel oozes of classical elegance and cozy domesticity combined with modern convenience. Among other things the hotel is equipped with electronic devices from the Danish high end brand Bang & Olufsen.
“Traditionally Hotel Eyde wished the laurel leafs to be the bearing design element but through the years this intention was more or less forgotten. We wanted to bring it back to life in a modern way and today the leafs from the logo are integrated in many different elements of the hotel, from interior decoration to website and business cards – even the shower panels are decorated with laurel leafs”.
CHRISTIAN BAY, ARCHITECT
“We chose ege carpets as our supplier because we were ambitious with regard to the carpets: We wanted them to tell a story, and to look precisely as they do. The carpets should tie the hotel together in an elegant way” Architect Christian Bay says and stresses the quality of the carpets as being one of the things he is particularly fond of about the project.
The history of the hotel is underlined by taking advantage of the total freedom of carpet design that ege carpets offers. Designer at ege carpets Helle Lykke Jensen and interior architect Christian Bay from Bay Arch succeeded to fulfill the dreams of the hotel owners by combining a creative design with innovative carpet production.
